Events

At La Bella Vita Montessori, we consider ourselves a family. Parents are welcome and encouraged to be an active part in their child’s education. In addition to monthly newsletters, parent workshop nights, an active Facebook page and other social media accounts, and a regularly updated website, we invite parents to observe in the classroom, help us organize school events, and connect with each other outside the classroom, creating a network that links the school to the community, and in turn, to the world. At La Bella Vita Montessori, we are invested in creating respectful relationships among teachers, administration staff, parents and children. We are invested in creating respectful relationships among teachers, administrative staff, parents, and children. We appreciate and celebrate diversity and recognize how we as a school benefit from the array of cultural backgrounds and traditions that families and staff members bring to our community.

Event Descriptions

New School Year Kick Off

Closing out the summer, this annual event starts the new school year off with a BANG! We celebrate with a night at the Omaha Children’s Museum. The Kick Off is a great opportunity for the children, families and staff to get together outside of school! The celebration is not just exclusive to LBV Families! We encourage you to bring grandparents, family and friends to join in the fun!

Fall Family Night

Every year in the fall, La Bella Vita Montessori Families and Staff come together for a night of food, fun and games. Sometimes held at Vala’s Pumpkin Patch, other times held carnival style at the school. This night is full of all the things we love about fall: crisp nights, good food, and being surrounded by the ones we love!

Trick or Treating Parade

Started in 2020, this event was one of the first times our families and staff came together since the beginning of COVID-19. Every family was socially distanced and handed out treats to the students as the paraded through the La Bella Vita parking lot and across the street to the Heritage Pointe Retirement Community to wave at the residents there. This event was such a success, we will continue to do it every year!

Pumpkin Painting and Fall Harvest Party

Our in-class fall celebrations are so much fun and the perfect way to celebrate the changing of the seasons. Our Nido and Toddler Classes celebrate with their families by doing pumpkin painting and our Early Childhood’s Fall Harvest Party is full of treats, crafts and spooks!

Whole School Thanksgiving Potluck

By far one of the most anticipated celebrations of the year, our Annual Whole School Thanksgiving Potluck is a family (and staff) favorite! Our school owner, Miss Sharon, makes the turkey and homemade gravy, and families are invited to bring in their favorite Thanksgiving (or special holiday) recipe as a side dish or dessert. This provides a diverse array of foods that are all prepared with love to share amongst each other. The school is filled with the smells of good food, the laughter of everyone in the building, and the warm feeling of the holidays. This event truly encompasses La Bella Vita’s belief that we are family.

Caroling at Heritage Pointe Assisted Living

Being a part of the community has always been important to La Bella Vita Montessori, so giving back is a huge component of our core values. In addition to our annual gift drive to the Open Door Mission, another small way we can give back during the holiday season, is by visiting our friends next door at Heritage Pointe Assisted Living. Every year the children make a gift for each one of the residents and carol through the halls to spread a little holiday cheer.

Whole School Winter Celebration

To ring in the holiday season, our Winter Celebration starts with carols from the children to sing to their families. The children then participate in a book exchange with their friends. To close the night, we eat homemade cookies (made by the children) and drink hot cocoa. This night is one of many that make La Bella Vita Montessori feel like one big family.

Grandparents Sweetheart Lunch

This day is a special one for us at La Bella Vita Montessori. We know just how important grandparents are and want to celebrate them. For Valentine’s Day, our Nido and Toddler classes invite in the grandparents for a special Sweethearts Lunch.

Valentine’s Day Celebrations

Our in-class Valentine’s Day Celebrations are packed with fun, laughter, and love. The students take a break from their normal routines to make crafts, eat special treats, and share their valentines with their friends.

Montessori Education Week

This week is special to us at La Bella Vita Montessori School because it celebrates our philosophy and all we pride ourselves on. This is our spirit week and is packed with events. From collecting socks for the Open Door Mission, delivering special treats to the other Montessori schools around town, crazy hair and outfits day to a dinner and a movie night for our families to enjoy.

Dr. Seuss’s Birthday

To celebrate Dr. Seuss, our children and staff start the day with a school wide pajama day! We fill the day with Dr. Seuss inspired crafts and each child is invited to bring a Dr. Seuss book to share!

St. Patrick’s Day

On this day, everyone is Irish! We all celebrate by wearing Green!

Art with Infants

This fun event invites families of our Nido room to come in and make an art project with assistance from the teachers. We know life gets busy, so this event provides that special time with your child to bond and get creative! On this day, everyone is Irish! We all celebrate by wearing Green!

Easter Egg Hunt

Come springtime, the Easter Bunny makes a stop at La Bella Vita Montessori School and leaves surprises left behind for the students to find. This event brings smiles and joy to all the children. Check out our FB Lives of the Easter Egg Hunts!

Earth Day

Making bird feeders, planting seeds for our garden, nature art projects and learning about recycling are just some of the ways we celebrate our home, Earth, on Earth Day and every day! This day truly gets children excited about taking care of their planet and investing in the world they live on.

Nature Classroom Clean Up Day

Our Nature Explore Classroom is a focal point of our school. Throughout the year we are continuously maintaining and updating our outdoor classroom to make it the best for the children. On this day especially, parents are encouraged to join us as we undertake landscaping projects and other upkeep initiatives.

Morning with Moms

To celebrate Mother’s Day, Mornings with Mom is an event where moms are invited to take a little time out of their day to spend with the child. We usually have a big breakfast event to celebrate, however this year, due to COVID, Mother’s are invited in to get a cup of coffee or smoothie from locally-owned ‘Jo on the Go’ and a muffin to go.

Dining with Dad’s

This event is a day to celebrate all the Dads (or Grandparents/Uncles) out there! They are invited to come in and eat lunch with their child and spend a couple hours enjoying time with them and feeling special. This year, to stick with our ‘Keep Local Alive’ theme, we had the ‘402 BBQ Food Truck’ come and serve the dads an amazing BBQ Lunch.

International Mud Day

Mud. Mud. Mud Everywhere. This day is one of the most fun (and messy) days of the year. The children kick off the summer by spending the whole day playing in mud. Whether its free mud play, mud pies, or mud art, the possibilities and FUN are limitless.
