About

Our History

Our owner, Miss Sharon, has been working in education for over 30 years as an elementary school teacher, not only in Nebraska, but also in Texas. She is a state certified teacher and holds her principle certification. She has her bachelor’s degrees in Elementary Education, Special Education, Business Management, a Master’s Degree in Management and an MBA. Miss Sharon always knew her teaching style was “unconventional”, but in 2012, she stumbled upon theMontessori Method and immediately realized how closely aligned her teaching style was to it.

She had always dreamed of opening a school, but now she realized her dream of opening aMontessori school. In June of 2014, dreams became a reality and La Bella Vita Montessori was founded. We opened our first location on 142nd and Blondo with just a Toddler and Early Childhood classroom. In October that year, we added a Nido Classroom. With great success, a short two years later, our second location was opened on 168th and Blondo.

However, we knew something was still missing. So, the next year, in 2017, we opened our Elementary Program which caters children in Kindergarten through 6th Grade. La Bella Vita Montessori is now accredited by the NebraskaDepartment of Education. In July of 2020, we made the hard decision to close our location on 142nd and Maple due to COVID-19. Even though it was a difficult decision to make, we realized that sometimes you have to take one step backwards to take a giant leap forward.
